Timberwolves Struggle in Embarrassing Home Loss to Warriors

The Minnesota Timberwolves suffered another disappointing home loss, this time falling to the Golden State Warriors in a game that exposed several ongoing issues.

The Wolves’ offensive woes were once again evident from the start, with the team not cracking the 30-point mark until there was less than two minutes left in the second quarter. While the Warriors’ offense wasn’t much better, Minnesota turnovers allowed them to build a double-digit lead in the first half.

The second quarter was especially brutal, as the Wolves didn’t score a single point until the 5:38 mark when Jaden McDaniels hit a three-pointer. Despite Golden State’s own shooting struggles, the Wolves found themselves down by 13 points at halftime.

Timberwolves’ Third Quarter Turnaround

The tide began to turn in the third quarter, largely thanks the bench. Naz Reid, Dante DiVincenzo, and Nickeil Alexander-Walker were instrumental in bringing the Wolves back into the game. Reid, in particular, was outstanding on both ends of the floor, finishing with 16 points and going 4-of-7 from beyond the arc.

DiVincenzo had one of his best games in a Timberwolves uniform, scoring 19 points on 7-of-12 shooting, including 3-of-6 from three-point range. The bench’s energy and production allowed us to take a brief lead late in the third quarter and early in the fourth.

Fourth Quarter Collapse for the Wolves

Despite a back-and-forth battle early in the fourth quarter, including some impressive shot-making from Anthony Edwards, the Wolves ultimately couldn’t keep pace with Stephen Curry and the Warriors. The offense became stagnant, leading to one-and-done possessions, while Curry hit a series of tough shots to seal the game.

This loss highlighted several ongoing concerns, including rebounding issues, transition defense lapses, and missed free throws. While the box score might show an even rebounding battle, the Warriors’ early dominance on the boards was a key factor in building their lead.
