The Wizards were molly-whopped by the Bulls 127-108 at Capital One. They better have a short memory.

The Wizards hung with the Bulls in the 1st quarter and even outscored them by 8 points, and after the first quarter, the game was over. The Wiz-Kidz better have short memories because the Clippers head into town for the second of a back-to-back as 11.5-point favorites. Before we get into my three keys to development, let’s look at the good, the bad, and the ugly about last night’s game.

The Good - Alex Sarr

Alex Sarr played another impressive game by scoring 20 points and 7 rebounds. It was his efficiency that shined by making 7 shots in 11 attempts and 4-5 from three. If he can continue to show star potential, when combined with the progress of Bilal Coulibaly, the 2025 NBA Draft could be the finishing touches on a up and coming franchise like the Wizards.

The Bad - Bub Carrington and Kyshawn George

Young Wiz-Kidz Bub Carrington and Kyshawn George struggled last night. While both appear to be steals in this year’s draft, they have been inconsistent. Last night, they shot a combined 6-22, including 2-13 from three. It’s all good, though. They have time and should definitely improve in the second half of the season.

The Ugly - The Defense, the usual suspect

The Wizards were bad from defense again, allowing the Bulls to shoot 50% from the field and 35% from three. They also allowed the Bulls to score 60 points in the paint and 25 in transition.

My three keys to development

1. Ball movement and high percentage execution
2. Defense
3. Win the Rebound battle

Matchup to watch - James Harden vs Bilal Coulibaly

Prediction - Wizards win
