The young Wiz-Kids head to Mexico City for an early season matchup against the Miami Heat. While it’s too early to determine if the Wizards’ young core has officially progressed earlier than expected, they’re definitely fun to watch, and when it is all said and done, they’re going to be one young and dangerous team. Let’s take a look at the keys to development for tomorrow’s game against the Heat.
Number one - Attack and make high-percentage shots
Believe It or not, the Wizards are 6th in the NBA in scoring, averaging 118 points a game. No, it’s not a misprint. With Kyle Kuzma is injured and a nonparticipant, I look for not only Jordan Poole to do his thing. I want Sarr and especially Bilal Coulibaly to continue to play good basketball. Some pick and pop/roll between JP13 and JV wouldn’t hurt either.
Number two - rebounding
The Wizards and the Heat are about even when it comes to rebounding (24th vs 26th). The game could come down to who wins the battle of the rebounds, especially offensive rebounds.
Number three - play turnover-free team basketball.
The Heat are a highly efficient team, the Wizards on the other hand. Good grief. If you could say one bad thing about the Wiz-Kidz, turnovers have been a problem. I think that fluid ball movement and making high basketball IQ plays will help.
Saturday, Nov 2nd - Wizards vs Heat in Mexico City, Mexico
Prediction- Fuego, Fuego! The Wizards stay hot and win a third straight game, but this will be their last win for a while. They have four really tough games coming up, including Jordan Pooles’s previous employer.
Peace everyone! Have a blessed and safe weekend and I’ll see you live on Sunday.
