Victor Wembanyama’s recent performances have left the basketball world in awe. The San Antonio Spurs’ rookie sensation is shattering records and putting up jaw-dropping numbers that have many wondering: Is Wembanyama already entering his prime in just his second year?

Over the last three games heading into the Christmas Day matchup against New York, Wembanyama averaged an impressive 30.7 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 4.3 assists in 33.5 minutes per game. His shooting percentages have been equally remarkable, with 48% from the field, 85% from the free-throw line, and a scorching 40% from beyond the arc.

What’s truly astounding is the versatility of Wembanyama’s game. He recently broke the record for the fastest player to reach 200 career three-pointers in NBA history. If that wasn’t enough, he also recorded a 10-block game and dropped 40 points in another contest. The young Frenchman is doing it all on both ends of the court.

However, the question remains: Is this Wembanyama’s peak, or is there still room for growth?

While his current level of play is extraordinary, I believe we haven’t seen Wembanyama’s ceiling yet. One area where he could potentially improve is his physicality. As he adds more size and strength to his frame, he’ll be better equipped to handle matchups against bigger opponents like Joel Embiid and Nikola Jokic.

Areas for Improvement

Despite his incredible performances, there are still aspects of Wembanyama’s game that could use refinement. His turnover rate, currently averaging nearly four per game, is one area where he could improve. This is partly due to his tendency to try and do too much on the court, pushing the limits of his abilities.

Another factor to consider is how Wembanyama’s body will hold up to the rigors of an NBA season. The European leagues he played in previously had a less demanding schedule, so adapting to the increased workload will be crucial for his long-term success.
