While the Wizards did lose to the Golden State Warriors 125-112 in DC last night, Jordan Poole still showed the Warriors why they made a mistake by trading him. Dropping 24 points was great but it was his shot selection that wowed not only Wizards fans, it even impressed former teammates. The relationship between Jordan Poole and Draymond Green could be better, but Draymond has chosen words about JP13 after last night’s contest. “He’s playing a lot better,” Green said about Poole. “His shot selection… you come to a new situation, as a competitor you want to show everything. I think last year he was pressing. He wanted it so bad. He’s settling in. Last year were bad shots but he wanted it so bad.”
Jordan Poole is definitely not only a better player this season, but he is also a better leader and in a new and improved headspace. In the locker room and on the court but also in the community. Whether it’s tutoring kids at basketball camps or handing out school supplies, he joins a long list of Wizards stars who gave back to the DC community. Gilbert Arenas, John Wall, Bradley Beal, Kyle Kuzma, and now Jordan Poole all prove that the commitment goes beyond the court. Using this platform for the betterment of the less fortunate is a great way of showing the DMV that Jordan Poole wants to be a permanent fixture in DC. As far as who he is as a player, JP13 would be the first person to remind you. He’s not a better or new player, he never went anywhere.
