Six months out from the 2025 NBA Draft lets talk prospects. The Trail Blazers are lottery bounder — where exactly remains a major topic of much debate and consternation. But for today let’s talk about some potential middle lottery targets to know in the June draft:

Kon Knueppel

Duke’s Kon Knueppel has been a high-volume shooter, hitting around 37% from beyond the arc. His ability to space the floor is a valuable asset for the Blazers. While his defense might not be elite, his size at 6-foot-7 and strength suggest he could develop into a solid defender. Knueppel’s potential as a secondary creator adds to his appeal, making him a strong candidate for Portland.

VJ Edgecombe

Baylor’s VJ Edgecombe has been on a hot streak offensively, showcasing his three-point shooting prowess. Initially expected to make an immediate impact, Edgecombe’s slow start to his collegiate career was surprising, but he’s found his rhythm in conference play. His athleticism, defensive instincts, and recent shooting performance make him a high-level player in this draft class. Although his positional versatility is limited (he’s probably just a shooting guard), his talent is undeniable, making him a compelling option for the Blazers.

Asa Newell

Asa Newell from Georgia is another name to watch. At 6'11", Newell is a great rim runner with high-level athleticism. His defensive potential is promising, but the question remains about his three-point shooting. If Newell can develop a reliable outside shot, his value increases significantly. However, the Blazers must consider their current roster’s shooting needs before making a decision.
