Fantasy basketball is all about maximizing value, and one of the best ways to do that is by identifying sell-high opportunities. Today, we’re looking at players who are currently over-performing and might be prime candidates to trade away while their value is at its peak.

Let’s start with Toumani Camara of the Portland Trail Blazers. Camara has been on a tear lately, ranking as the 58th best fantasy player over the last two weeks. He’s averaging 37 minutes per game during this stretch, up from his season average of 32. However, there are some red flags that suggest this level of production might not be sustainable.

Camara’s shooting percentages are off the charts right now. He’s hitting 58% from three-point range and 69% on two-pointers. These numbers are well above his season and career averages, and it’s highly unlikely he’ll maintain this efficiency. Additionally, his usage rate remains low at 12.9%, making it difficult to sustain high fantasy value without elite efficiency.

Another Blazer to consider selling high on is Deandre Ayton. The big man has been impressive lately, ranking 16th over the last two weeks with an average of 46 fantasy points per game. However, like Camara, Ayton’s current production seems unsustainable.

Ayton’s seeing a significant boost in several key areas. His free throw attempts have more than doubled, his field goal attempts are up from 12 to 16 per game, and his field goal percentage has jumped from 57% to 63%. He’s also playing five extra minutes per game compared to his season average. While Ayton could certainly maintain some of this improved production, it’s unlikely he’ll continue at this elite level.

When considering sell-high opportunities, it’s crucial to look beyond surface-level stats. Dig deeper into shooting percentages, usage rates, and minutes played to identify unsustainable trends. Remember, the goal isn’t necessarily to “win” every trade, but to maximize your team’s overall value and fit.
