Last night’s victory over the Charlotte Hornets checked two boxes. For the crowd that needed a victory, the Wizards supplied that. For those fans who are scared that any kind of win will lesson our chances for drafting Cooper Flagg, I promise you, we’re good. Last night was the Wizard’s chance to showcase what the future could hold. Let’s start with Jordan Poole, aka JP13.

Jordan Poole dropped 27 points last night and continues to play high-level basketball. He’s had his moments but overall, he has not only played at an All-Star level, he has emerged as a veteran voice in the locker room. Last night he tied the franchise record for consecutive games with a three-pointer, tying Wizard great Gilbert Arenas. He also scored his 6K point. It was a very special night for JP.

Alex Sarr showed how good his offensive game can be with proper work and time. He dropped 19 points and 9 rebounds, plus three blocks. He was very raw coming out of the draft and it was expected that his rim protection would be the first attribute to shine but he shows glimpses offensively. He does need work long-term, especially when it comes to becoming more of a well-rounded Center but he’ll develop into a star with time.

Lastly, there is B-Coul aka Bilal Coulibaly. When I saw him grab that alley-oop for a windmill dunk, I yelled so loud, I felt my soul jump out of my body. Maybe that was a little wild but the point is, I was happy. Similar to Sarr, his offensive game was very raw coming out of the draft but he is playing like a player who is poised to break out this season on the offensive end. His success offensively is a testament to not only Bilal and his work ethic, it’s a testament to Head Coach Brian Keefe and his ability to get the best out of players. The future is bright in the 202.
